Rubicon Investment Managers (“Rubicon”) is an investment management company focussed on providing a broad and all-encompassing spectrum of financial services expertise to the global market. Rubicon was founded in 2014 by Graeme Duncan together with his team of experienced founding partners. Rubicon aims to be a leader in financial services in alternative Hedge Strategies Globally through passion, established partnerships, leading product innovation and a personalised service to all its investors and clients.

Rubicon’s philosophy of business can be simply articulated as the blending of realized knowledge or wisdom with social responsibility and compassion. This philosophy underpins our ethical responsibility to our investors, shareholders, employees, corporate governance, marketing, compliance and society in general.

Rubicon’s Code of Ethics ensures that the company follows all laws and compliance regulations domestically and globally. The responsibility of our directors is to abide by all laws, compliance and regulations and above all to do no harm (Primum non nocere). Our internal audit process serves to eliminate any corporate ethical/legal abuses including creative accounting, earnings management, misleading financial analysis, fraud, bribery and kickbacks.

Rubicon Investment Managers is a, category 1 Global Business Licence under Section 72(6) of the Financial Services Act to the conditions set out herein.

This Licence attests that the company conducts business outside Mauritius for the purposes of Part X of the Financial Services Act.

Graeme Duncan
Graeme Duncan

Chief Executive Officer

Graeme has over 30 years’ experience in business, leadership, philanthropy and capital-raising spanning 5 continents of the globe. He was born in South Africa and graduated in the early 1980’s.

Graeme has an extensive background in owning, running and managing businesses in various sectors including food manufacturing, construction, printing, aircraft charter services, Aerial Geo surveying, software engineered solutions, asset management, African logistic and supply solutions, and security related hardware and software.

Graeme is the founder of Banyan Holdings, a South African, diversified investment holding company focusing on niche wealth management and hedge fund solutions, owned, run and operated together with his partners. In 2015 Banyan Holdings acquired Quantum Equities founded by Bhavesh Patel and Kylie Jerg to enhance Banyans’ private wealth management business with an institutional investment solution.

He is a published author and has delivered seminars and lectures on motivation, health, life transformation and wealth building in the United States, Australia and South Africa.

Graeme serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Banyan Holdings and advises the Board on its global positioning through his strong, well-established networks all over the world.

Tertius Relihan
Tertius Relihan

Key Individual

Tertius is a Namibian and has been living in Africa for 50 years and has extensive experience as an investor and entrepreneur in over 8 African countries. He is the founder and CEO of Caveat Investments, an authorised Financial Service Provider (Licence No. 24777) which was established in 2006.

Caveat is a Pan-African investment Hedge Fund and strategic advisory firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Prior to forming Caveat Investments, Tertius was one of the Initial Advisors of Business Partners South Africa. His responsibilities included originating, structuring and submission of credit and/or equity applications to the Board, negotiating and monitoring investments on behalf of Business Partners.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Stellenbosch, and is a Registered Persons for the Equity Market (SAIFM) as well as the Forex Market (SAIFM). He is also on the board of trustees of the Sea and Sand Life Saving Association. The Association focuses on fostering Leadership skills and knowledge of the sea for school leavers of the Sea and Sand Academy, Africa’s premier Life Saving preparatory college.

Tertius currently serves as a fund advisor to BAM.
